2004 marked Newnan Utilities' 100th anniversary.The Georgia Assembly's 1904 decision to allow municipalities to own and operate public utilities cleared the way for a century of innovation. From the first flicker of electricity that lit a downtown Newnan street corner, Newnan Utilities has been committed to delivering the services that enhance the quality of life throughout Coweta County.

In 1997, our first customer was connected to our hybrid coaxial-fiber network.
Today, we serve all of the city of Newnan and a large portion of Coweta County with nuTV advanced cable television and Acceleron high speed Internet.

Many of our past and present technological milestones have greatly influenced cable and utility companies across the state and across the country. Newnan Utilities continues to light and lead the way in more ways than most local utility providers.
