NCHS Member Appreciation Night

In honor of our benefactor Edgar Hollis Jr and our current members, the Newnan-Coweta Historical Society and McRitchie-Hollis Museum is hosting a member appreciation night on March 6, 2020. NCHS staff and board will speak about the state of the organization and deliver a vision statement for the upcoming year. The McRitchie-Hollis Museum will also host the soft opening of its 2020 exhibit: “Newnan Now & Then: Roaring Back Into the 20s” which showcases the museum’s artifacts from 1920s Coweta County and features 1920s photographs and technology and their modern-day counterparts. Hors d'oeuvres will be served starting at 5:30pm. The State of Organization presentation will begin at 6:30pm.

This is a members-only event; however, memberships will be available at the door. All are invited to attend and become a member and enjoy the evening.

About the McRitchie-Hollis Museum Benefactor: Newnan native, Edgar Baldwin Hollis was the son of Edgar Baldwin Hollis, Sr. and Janet McRitchie Hollis. He attended Newnan High School and as a graduate of Emory University, he received a Bachelor's Degree in History and a Master of Humanities Mr. Hollis' professional career was in Washington, D.C. with the United States Government. During his 33 years of service, he worked with the National Security Agency in the Inter-Library Loan Division.
