Downtown Business Participants are encouraged to participate in promotions and downtown events! Any business who is registered as a downtown participant may do so by accessing the links below!

The Art Walk!

The Art Walk Event is our celebration of local art, is hosted twice a year in downtown Newnan! During the Art Walk, businesses extend their hours to host store-front exhibits and demonstrations curated by a variety of Newnan’s finest artists. Complementary tastings and hors d’oeuvres will be served by some of our local businesses, as well as specials and promotions. Visitors can expect to stroll through over 30 locations and see the work of at least 40 artists, and you will find a wide variety of art styles and mediums, including: oil on canvas, engraving, pottery, photography, jewelry-making, fiber arts, performing arts and acrylics. The downtown streets and sidewalks are sure to be filled with unexpected talent and delightful entertainment! There is no fee for admission to this event.
The Summer Wined-Up

The Summer Wined-Up

The Summer Wined-Up is our downtown wine-tasting event, and takes place each year during the month of June. Individual tastings occur at a different downtown business, where guests should expect to perform a “wine walk” that moves through over 25 host locations. The merchants who host this event will feature different hor d'oeuvres and a variety of whites, reds, and specialty blend wines for guests to sample. All downtown business hosts are happy to extend their business hours and hospitality to all downtown guests; drinkers, and non-drinkers, including retail specials and promotions.
The Labor Day Sidewalk Sale

The Labor Day Sidewalk Sale

The Labor Day Sidewalk Sale is an annual tradition that has been hosted in downtown Newnan for over 25 years! This is an all-day shopping event that occurs on the Friday before Labor Day from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. During the Labor Day Sidewalk Sale, visitors are invited to walk the downtown streets and browse through blocks of merchandise outside retail locations. Most of these items are on sale!

Oktoberfest

The Oktoberfest celebration is designed to bring beer enthusiasts downtown to enjoy a night of tasting craft brews. Over 30+ downtown businesses participants extend their business hours, and their hospitality, to downtown guest to serve as tasting locations for the different varieties of craft beer that is available for sampling. Downtown businesses provide complimentary refreshments, retail sales specials and other treats for all Oktoberfest guest.
The Munchkin Masquerade

The Munchkin Masquerade

The Munchkin Masquerade occurs every year on the morning of Halloween from 10 a.m. - 12noon, and is a daytime trick-or-treating event for young children. During the Munchkin Masquerade, preschool aged children from around the greater Newnan- Coweta area gather in downtown Newnan around the courthouse square to collect treats from downtown businesses. Costumes are always welcomed and encouraged. This event typically hosts a crowd of around 1,000 children and lasts around 2 hours. This Event is a Litter- Free, Smoke Free Event.
The Holiday Sip and See

The Holiday Sip and See

Join downtown Newnan in welcoming the holiday season for our annual Holiday Sip-and-See from 5-9 p.m. During the Holiday Sip-and-See, downtown retail establishments extend their normal business hours to introduce their holiday gift items, and offer special promotions or discounts. This event is a great opportunity to get an early start on holiday shopping! Participating businesses will serve hor d'oeuvres and beverages during the event. The Holiday Open House is also an opportunity for spectators to stroll our beautiful downtown streets with family and friends while enjoying the season in downtown Newnan!

On Plaid Friday, (the day after Thanksgiving,) shop in downtown Newnan and simplify your Day-After-Thanksgiving experience!

The name “Plaid Friday” celebrates the idea of LOCAL, which aims to promote the importance of supporting our community by shopping at small businesses. The plaid pattern represents weaving the individual threads of small businesses together to create a strong fabric that celebrates the diversity and creativity of independent businesses. Plaid Friday is the relaxing and enjoyable alternative to the big box store “Black Friday,” and is designed to promote both local and independently owned businesses, especially during the holiday season. Wear Plaid attire during Plaid Friday and expect to SAVE, as numerous downtown businesses will offer a significant discount to any customer wearing plaid clothing!

Shop LOCAL on Small Business Saturday in downtown Newnan, and take advantage of sales and promotions that are available on this special day!

Small Business Saturday is a nationally celebrated shopping event that takes place within downtowns, and other small businesses across the United States. The day is intended to encourage American shoppers to consider buying from small retailers and merchants as they check off their holiday gift lists. American Express created Small Business Saturday in 2010 as a promotional effort designed to encourage consumers to support businesses which creates jobs, boosts the economy, and preserves downtown districts and neighborhoods around the country. The timing of this annual shopping event is intentional, as it always occurs on the 4th Saturday of November, following “Black Friday,” and prior to the recently established “Cyber Monday” shopping events.
