HOW TO!

  • Inform Downtown Business Owners about your event. Main Street Newnan will forward information via email to business owners by request. Please submit information via email (mainstreetnewnan@cityofnewnan.org) to our team.
  • List your event on our Downtown Event Calendar! Please take advantage of this service. It is far reaching through google searches. Visit our event page and, click 'Create an Event'.
  • Market Your Event by sharing the information with Main Street Newnan’s Social Media Network. Please contact our team for additional information.
  • Are you wanting to use City sidewalks, the Court House Square, reserve public parking spaces, or close streets to host your event? Please remember that you must make requests related to Newnan City Council, contact the City Manager's Office.
  • Are you hoping to reserve a public park or City owned facility to host your event? Contact Leisure Services.
  • Can you serve Alcohol in public spaces? The City of Newnan’s Downtown Development Authority is permitted to host events where the open consumption of alcohol is allowed by council request in the downtown district. This board serves to direct Main Street Newnan, and partners with other City sponsored programs. Please note that this is currently limited and reserved to the Downtown Development Authority. City of Newnan Code Chapter 3, Section 25, 26, 27.

The Major Long House

The Major Long House

This Award Winning Antebellum home is the perfect venue for your gathering, large or small. It provides a comfortable but elegant space for parties, showers, business meetings, rehearsal dinners, weddings and/or receptions, family reunions, and funeral receptions. It is within two blocks of the four major downtown churches and within sight of the court square.

As well as winning numerous local awards, this wonderful restoration has won a coveted Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation Award for "Excellence in Restoration". It has been privately restored by a two-time winner of the Trust Award and is professionally decorated. It is filled with a col-lection of antiques appropriate to the period of the house for the use of your guests.

Since 1859, the stately antebellum Georgian mansion at 83 Greenville Street has stood as a jewel among Newnan's historic residential gems. Now, this carefully preserved home in one of suburban Atlanta's most prestigious historical districts is ready to showcase your special event that will mark an important chapter in your own history. Our ballroom, courtyard, and beautifully landscaped garden welcomes weddings, receptions, birthday parties, graduation parties, and many other special life events. 
The Historic Train Depot

The Historic Train Depot

Rustic charm, exposed brick, boarding platform and green space all come together to create a unique venue for your next special occasion. This historic structure is approximately 3200 square feet and is perfect for weddings, corporate events, award dinners, parties, mitzvahs, rehearsal dinners, fundraisers, lectures, birthdays, graduation celebrations, proms and other special occasions. 
The Historic Coweta County Courthouse

The Historic Coweta County Courthouse

Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the 1904 Classic Revival Courthouse anchors the town square. Its dome rises 100 feet above street level, and a four-face clock in the tower chimes the hour. The dome is covered with copper to match the cornice, pediments and railings.
The Coweta County Visitors Center is now located in the 1904 Historic Courthouse (enter on the Eastside of the square).

Newnan Carnegie Library

Two meeting rooms are available on the second floor of the Carnegie for rental by non-profit and private groups. Programs sponsored by the Carnegie such as author talks and story time are also held in the meeting rooms. Each meeting room seats 72 people and features a projector, DVD player and sound system. One room also contains a stage and lectern. A warming kitchen is also available for groups that wish to cater their function.
